The songs on this record are rare historical recordings. These are the only concert recordings of Atomic Rooster with Carl Palmer on vinyl.

In 1969 keyboarder Vincent Crane and drummer Carl Palmer left the band The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown (incidentally, Crane had written the world hit 'Fire'), joined forces with bassist Nick Graham and founded ATOMIC ROOSTER. The debut album released in 1970 was a respectable success, but Nick Graham then left the band. Incidentally, he remained the only full-time bassist in the band's history. For him from ANDROMEDA came the guitarist and singer John DuCann, who should leave a good mark. DuCann arrived at the beginning of 1970 and the trio Crane-Palmer-DuCann went on a tour across Sweden and UK in February / March. During this section, the band also played in the legendary Paris Theater in London, where they recorded live for the BBC. Four of these recordings are on the 10 'released by Sireena Records on vinyl for the first time, they are rough direct recordings that are of great historical value - and they impressively show the exceptional talent of Carl Palmer.
Palmer then moved on to Emerson, Lake & Palmer, who became one of the supergroups of the 1970s. Vincent Crane continued with John DuCann and drummer John Hammond, and a year later - in 1971 - this formation was again in the Paris Theater for more radio recordings. But that's another story!
The recordings on this record came from the possession of John DuCann, who already died like Vincent Crane.

Bei den Songs dieser Platte handelt es sich um rare historische Aufnahmen. Es sind die einzigen Konzert-Aufnahmen von Atomic Rooster mit Carl Palmer auf Vinyl.

1969 verließen Keyboarder Vincent Crane und Drummer Carl Palmer die Band The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown (Crane hatte übrigens den Welthit 'Fire' geschrieben), taten sich mit dem Bassisten Nick Graham zusammen und gründeten ATOMIC ROOSTER. Das 1970 erschienene Debütalbum wurde gleich ein respektabler Erfolg, aber Nick Graham verließ anschließend die Band. Er blieb in der Geschichte der Band übrigens der einzige hauptamtliche Bassist. Für ihn kam von ANDROMEDA der Gitarrist und Sänger John DuCann, der ordentlich Spuren hinterlassen sollte. Von ihm stammen u.a. die beiden späteren Hits 'Tomorrow Night' und 'Devil's Answer'. DuCann stieg Anfang 1970 ein, und das Trio Crane-Palmer-DuCann ging Februar/März auf Schweden-Tour, anschließend wurde das Vereinigte Königreich intensiv bespielt. Während dieses Abschnitts fand sich die Band auch im legendären Paris Theatre in London wieder, wo sie für die BBC Radioaufnahmen live einspielte. Vier dieses Aufnahmen befinden sich auf der 10', die von Sireena Records erstmals auf Vinyl veröffentlicht werden. Es sind rauhe direkte Aufnahmen, die allerdings von größtem historischen Wert sind - und sie zeigen eindrucksvoll das Ausnahmetalent von Carl Palmer, der mit knapp 20 Jahren einen höllischen Auftritt hinlegte!
Palmer zog es dann doch zu Emerson, Lake & Palmer, die zu einer DER Supergroups der Siebzigerjahre wurden. Vincent Crane machte mit John DuCann und Trommler John Hammond weiter, und ein Jahr später - also 1971 - stand diese Formation wiederum im Paris Theatre für weitere Radioaufnahmen. Aber das ist eine andere Geschichte!
Die Aufnahmen auf diesem Tonträger stammen aus dem Besitz von John DuCann, der wie Vincent Crane bereits verstorben ist.
