In 1970, Metro's – and the history of Hungarian pop music's – first concert album, Egy este a Metro Klubban…, was released. This is the only album of Metro's second “classical” line-up, as the band's main composer, Otto Schöck, was replaced by Janos Fogarasi. Most of the songs were written by Karoly Frenreisz and Dusan Sztevanovity. The recording was made on May 31, 1970, at the Metro Klub, with a UHER tape recorder from a record company. Despite the somewhat simple recording technique, the sound quality is surprisingly good. The original record release also included a black-and-white photograph depicting the band members.
Hungaroton was the one and only record and music publisher company in Hungary for about 40 years.
Hungaroton was founded in 1951, when its only competitors in the Hungarian music market were record labels like Melodiya,
