From my private collection
This is an album I bought when I started collecting records, but neglected for many years ; now I've decided to give the album a whirl once more and I'm pleasantly surprised, this is a great album, especially within the heavy-prog sub-genre. Opening Track 'Gypsy' is BRILLIANT - it reminds me of Atomic Rooster - I have listened to at least 10 Uriah Heep LP's and none of them have the same quality as this debut release - the Hammond organ playing really hits a special spot that only certain bands can achieve, and the only 'standard' compositions of the album are : 'Dreammare' and 'Real Turned On'..... but the rest is really enjoyable - 'Gypsy' features a sensational Hammond Organ solo that would make Vincent Crane or Jon Lord blush, and is a manic blow-out, Organist Ken Hensley is totally wild - I wish that Hensley and crew would've continued in this, more 'underground' orientation - maybe they would be worse-off financially, but more satisfying..
