Die mit 'Asuntos Pendientes' untertitelte Platte stellt mit hochkarätigen Gästen wie Randy Brecker, Mike Mainieri und Bob Mintzer eine Auswahl der Jazz-Elite zusammen, steht aber ganz im Zeichen des namengebenden Gitarristen, der sich einiger Fremdwerke annimmt: Thelonious Monks „Criss Cross“, Greg Osbys „Concepticus in C“ und das naheligende „Latin Genetics“ neben „Invisible“ (beide von Harmolodics-Initiator Ornette Coleman) werden neu interpretiert, ebenso Bobby Hutcherson 'Head Start' und 'Rojo' sowie Andrew Hills Oeuvre, stellvertretend mit 'Catta'. |
